Commercial B2B Field Prospecting Representative

About Us:
Founded in 2005, Sound Cleaning Resources Inc. is a leading commercial property maintenance company serving businesses and commercial properties throughout Washington and Oregon. We provide a wide range of commercial services, including regular janitorial, floor care, carpet extraction, interior and exterior window cleaning, pressure washing, and other property maintenance services.

We take pride in transparent communication, accountable service, and delivering a high level of customer service to our clients. With more than 400 five-star client reviews, our reputation is built on doing what we say we will do and providing dependable service.

Position Overview:
We are launching our "Can Be Seen" commercial field prospecting initiative and are seeking an articulate, energetic, friendly, and self-motivated individual to join our team in an active, on-the-ground business development role.

The Commercial B2B Field Prospecting Representative will visit local commercial business parks, office complexes, corporate centers, and other commercial properties to identify potential opportunities for Sound Cleaning Resources.

This is a research-focused, consultative prospecting position—not a high-pressure sales role. The goal is to identify businesses and properties that may have a current or upcoming need for commercial cleaning or property maintenance services, determine who the appropriate decision-maker is, and gather accurate information for our internal Account Executive team to follow up, prepare estimates, and develop the opportunity.

The ideal candidate will be outgoing and comfortable speaking with people, highly organized, dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and motivated to develop practical B2B sales and business development experience.

We Seek an Individual With:
  • A great attitude and willingness to learn and grow
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and active listening skills
  • A professional, friendly, and confident demeanor
  • The ability to comfortably approach and speak with new people
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
  • The ability to work independently while following established processes
  • Self-motivation and a dependable work ethic
  • An interest in B2B sales, commercial real estate, business development, or account management
  • The ability to manage multiple prospecting locations and opportunities
  • A professional appearance and the ability to represent the Sound Cleaning Resources brand positively
Primary Responsibilities:
The Commercial B2B Field Prospecting Representative will utilize established prospecting processes and mobile systems to identify, qualify, and document commercial business opportunities.

  • Commercial Corridor Prospecting
  • Conduct structured in-person prospecting visits throughout assigned commercial corridors, business parks, office complexes, and corporate centers.
  • Visit businesses and commercial properties to identify potential cleaning and property maintenance opportunities.
  • Distribute company-provided marketing flyers and business cards to appropriate contacts.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional presence throughout the assigned territory.
  • Consultative Inquiry
  • Approach receptionists, office personnel, property staff, and other gatekeepers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ask questions designed to understand current cleaning and maintenance arrangements.
  • Identify potential service needs, upcoming contract renewals, dissatisfaction with current vendors, or other opportunities.
  • Determine the appropriate Property Manager, Facilities Director, Office Manager, or other decision-maker responsible for commercial cleaning and maintenance services.
  • Communicate professionally without using aggressive or high-pressure sales tactics.
Opportunity Qualification
The representative will utilize our Rule of Three qualification process to identify qualified opportunities.

A qualified opportunity should include:
  • An identified maintenance need, service issue, or upcoming contract renewal
  • An active or anticipated commercial budget for the service
  • Accurate contact information for the primary decision-maker, including name, title, email address, and phone number whenever available
The goal is not simply to collect business cards or contact information, but to identify legitimate commercial opportunities that our Account Executive team can pursue.

Real-Time Mobile Logging
  • Record prospecting visits and relevant information directly into the company's shared mobile pipeline system.
  • Document businesses visited, contacts made, identified needs, and next steps.
  • Enter decision-maker information accurately and promptly following each site visit.
  • Maintain organized and complete prospect records for internal Account Executive follow-up.
  • Communicate any significant opportunity, customer request, or issue to the appropriate team member.
Professional Representation
  • Represent Sound Cleaning Resources professionally during all field activities.
  • Wear company-provided branded apparel, including polo, hoodie, and/or hat as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Interact respectfully with business owners, employees, property managers, receptionists, facilities personnel, and other members of the commercial community.
  • Follow all company prospecting procedures and guidelines.
What We Offer
  • $20.00 per hour starting wage for all active field prospecting and scheduled remote training sessions.
  • Flexible scheduling of approximately 5–15 hours per week, designed to work around academic schedules and coursework.
  • Practical, resume-building experience in B2B sales, commercial prospecting, business development, and territory canvassing.
  • Hands-on experience working with commercial businesses, property managers, facilities personnel, and decision-makers.
  • Training and support from an experienced commercial sales team.
  • Company-branded uniform apparel provided.
  • Professional marketing materials, flyers, and business cards provided.
  • Opportunity to develop skills in CRM/pipeline management, lead qualification, communication, and commercial sales.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and active listening skills.
  • Self-motivated, professional, dependable, and confident demeanor.
  • Comfortable approaching businesses and initiating conversations with people you have not met before.
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive in a field-based environment.
  • Reliable personal transportation to travel to assigned commercial corridors throughout the Greater Portland/Vancouver Metro area.
  • Personal smartphone with active data access to use mobile pipeline sheets and other company systems.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Current automobile liability insurance.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance while representing the company in the field.
  • Previous sales, customer service, marketing, business development, or prospecting experience is helpful but not required.
